Kratos is seeking a Satellite Orbital Analysis (OA) Engineer with a minimum 3-5 years’ experience for the Command and Control Systems – Consolidated (CCS-C) ground system as part of the CSAR program. The position includes support of dynamic, fast-paced projects that span all phases of the Software Development/ Software Test/System Engineering lifecycles, including requirement review/updates, design, development, test, and customer support.
The ideal candidate has several years’ experience with satellite telemetry and commanding, including software development in EPOCH Product Suite and OASYS.
- Candidate must show ability to effectively communicate with various team members, customers, as well as communicate with vendor support
- Assess on-orbit operations through planning, execution and debrief phases
- Creates initial and post maneuver orbit determination
- Executes Kalman Filter monitoring/analysis and manipulation
- Develops and improves operation procedures, scripts, including unit and system testing
- Define and propose SATCOM operational and operator requirements and design approaches to satisfy them
- Inteface with the customer and operational users to define operational requirements and propose solutions to address them
- Effectively work with a cross functional engineering team
- Travel as necessary to support system integration, testing, and customer meetings
- Be a strong team player and leader to the project team and to the organization
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, related fields or 5-7 years’ experience in Orbital Analysis
- Current Security+ Certification or required within 6 months of hire.
- Software testing
- Understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working independently and with others.
- Candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written form.
- Ability to conduct modeling, simulation and analysis of orbital maneuvers and trajectory estimations
- Experience and knowledge of the SATCOM operational environment
- SATCOM Operational knowledge sufficient to define requirements needed for the Operators to execute their role and mission
- Current Secret level clearance required
- Required to either be able to obtain a TS/SCI, or currently have a TS/SCI
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 8 to 10 years’ experience in
- EPOCH Product Suite
- OASYS (Orbital Analysis System
- OA Operations
- A software test environment, including regression testing
- Knowledge of Command and Control Consolidated (CCS-C) system.
- Knowledge of Air Force Test Regulations and experience in Air Force formal testing is a plus
- Current Top Secret level clearance, with SCI eligibility
